February 05, 2019

A very interesting and enlightening disucussion with author and scientist Howard Bloom.

He tells us about his experiences which led him write his latest book "How I accidentally Started the Sixties".  Which is a fascinating read and I highly recommend it. He recounts his incredible life from boyhood genius, to psychedlic guru, to running the biggest music PR firm in the 70's and 80's, to his battle with serious health issues and up to his many fascinating books about science, evolutionary psychology and the future of humanity.

We also take a deep dive into his book "The Genius in the Beast: A radical re-vision of Capitalism". He shares his take on the history of Capitalism and how it can save the world.

Another topic we discuss is his battle with Chronic Fatigue syndrome. He goes into detail about how he went from being bed bound to regaining his heatlh and he accomplished that.

In his book "The Lucifer Princple - a scientific expedition into the forces of history" he has an excerpt called "isolation the ultimate poisoin" which explains why being chronically sick is so hard on humans. Speaking from soenoen who's bee chroncially ill for 30 years that exceprt is explanation thatI've ever read about what it's like to be sick, in pain and socially isolated.

Howard is a very intelligent and he has strong opinions as well. He does share his negative opinion about the job Trump  is doing in the first 8 minutes or so of the podcast. (this was recorded July 2018). After that we have a political free discussion about how indivdiuals voluntarily competing and cooperationg can accomplish anything. Thanks for listening.
